tuna statistics & Chris Jordan

There's a great show tucked away in the Museum of Science in Cambridge going on through May. It's the work of Chris Jordan, an amazing artist who documents consumerism.
Above is a zoom of his piece titled "Tuna", which depicts 20,500 tuna, the average number of tuna fished from the world's oceans every fifteen minutes. Did you catch that? EVERY 15 MINUTES.
It's just one of many moving works. In his statement Jordan writes, "The pervasiveness of our consumerism holds a seductive kind of mob mentality. Collectively we are committing a vast and unsustainable act of taking, but we each are anonymous and no one is in charge or accountable for the consequences. I fear that in this process we are doing irreparable harm to our planet and to our individual spirits."
If you love sushi like I do, take a look at this sustainable sushi chart.
